I’ve always seen Thursday as a good day, and today is no exception. Despite it being barely above 0 degrees outside, it’s a clear day. There’s snow on the ground, and it just feels like a nice day. Work is going well, and I’m grateful that the weekend is nearly upon me. I haven’t been too busy today, which is always a nice thing, and I’m generally in a good mood. I slept well last night, and the cold that I’ve been fighting for about 3 weeks is finally almost completely gone! Tonight, it’s happy hour with the friends, and it’s the unofficial start of the weekend, which is why I’ve affectionately called Thursday Friday Junior.
Adoring and lovable
I am the only child to my parents and I was pampered with love and affection as any other single child will be. I got married eight years back and since my husband’s job demands him to travel a lot, I have been staying with my parents as my husband’s parents are no more. As we do not have children, my husband showers all his love on me and I could not have asked for a more loving family. But, losing my mother a few years back, was a big blow to me and more for my father. Ever since, my father has become even more attached to me and my husband also treats my father with great love and respect. We respect and value each other’s opinions and decisions and touch wood, we have been living a life full of compassion and love.
Fire Safety
The present generation is one that spends a lot of time alone working, studying and doing their own stuff, living away from the safety of the parental home where most safety measures are put in place. So it has become imperative for us to teach our young one about safety devices, new fire blankets, safety measures they have to take to avoid fires, short circuits and so on. Fire as they say is a good servant but a bad master so to safeguard ourselves and our surroundings from the destruction that a chance fire can cause, it is important for us to have fire extinguishers at home as a safety measure to control the devastating damage that a fire can cause before help arrives on a large scale.
Cottons and Silk
I love wearing jeans and cotton tops, if I am given a choice but when I am on official work, I have to wear sarees. So, I have quite a collection of sarees and since I love the feel of it, most of the sarees are made of Mysore silk. But other than my work clothes, I have a collection of many Designer jeans and Madras cotton tops. I feel very comfortable wearing these tops. I also have a few cotton trousers and matching tops, which I wear when I go out for dinners or social get-togethers. I also like my footwear to be easy and non-complicated. Hence, I have a collection of different designs of sandals.

Yahoo all the way!
Ever since I started using the mail facility on my computer, I have been using the Yahoo mail service and I am absolutely happy and satisfied with the services provided. Yahoo offers instant and SMS text messaging, key-board shortcuts, desk-top like interface and unlimited online storage. Yahoo mail automatically collects junk mails to a spam folder. There is also the advantage of being able to collect mail from additional POP accounts. One of the main feature that I love about Yahoo is, it brings a sleek interface and tabs. Also, the keyboard short-cuts and solutions to practical problems like addressing messages, makes Yahoo the most reliable mail service.
A nightmarish experience

While I was in the final year of my college, two of my friends insisted that I join them for a dinner date at Mahabalipuram, which is located almost 60kms from Chennai. Little did we know what was in store for us that evening. Right from the time we started at around 7 PM, it was non-stop action. It was raining like hell and half way through, we had a flat tyre and had to change it, soaking in the rain. Finally, we managed to reach the restaurant by 9.30PM, only to find there was a massive blow-out of the transformer and hence no electricity. Somehow, we managed to eat something and started our journey back. Again after traveling for a few miles, the car developed some snag and there was no way of getting any assistance at that time, especially when it was raining so heavily. So, we had no choice other than hiking our way back to the city. Finally, after trying for two hours, we managed to get the help of a kind family, who brought us back to the city.
Pillar of strength
From the time we met, during early school days, Gaya and I have remained as inseparable friends. She has always stood by me during many difficult times and has helped me overcome many emotionally draining periods, like losing my mother, a few years back. In short, I can completely rely on Gaya. I consider myself very lucky to have such a loving and loyal friend like her. Time and again, she has proved to be my pillar of strength. Though, we are both married and have our own lives to lead, we stay connected always. As the saying goes, a friend in need is a friend indeed, my friend has supported all my decisions and helped me through many difficult ones. Loyalty could well be her middle name and I love her for that.
Staying Connected
My current phone carrier is Reliance. Though Reliance was introduced much later than the other networks, it offers good coverage throughout India. My job demands me to travel frequently to several remote areas across India and I certainly need a carrier that can offer undisturbed coverage throughout. Reliance provides extensive coverage and I have never had any problem connecting from wherever I have been traveling. Reliance also offers a wide range of sleek handsets. Reliance offers the best customer service and the supporting staff are always ready to help their customers. The charges are very reasonable and the company offers several schemes to choose from. With so many advantages, I feel that I have chosen the best carrier available in India.

Monotonous and boring
After returning from a brief vacation to Goa, I have been running from pillar to post, to complete all the backlogs at work. Actually, I have been spending overtime at my office on every single day for the last ten days, including the week-end. The only salvaging point is it has been raining very heavily for almost a fortnight in Chennai. The temperature has finally cooled down to bearable limits. Though the rain has made traveling within the city very difficult, I personally enjoy this weather as I get the rare opportunity to wear my favorite wind-cheaters, while riding my two-wheeler. Also, most of my clients stay put in their office and yhis has made my job of meeting them has been comparatively easier. The rain has been the only saving grace for the past ten days, in an otherwise dull and boring past week.
Spiders

- Image via Wikipedia
An infestation of spiders has moved into my bathroom. I cleaned my bathroom recently and killed 5 spiders in a span of 20 minutes. The next day, I thought the spiders had come back to life because they were in the same spot that I saw them previously. Since I keep seeing them, I am starting to wonder where and how they keep getting into my house. I am not really afraid of them as they just stay in my bathroom and do not venture anywhere else. Perhaps it is best to leave them alone as they will keep away other flying insects.
