Fire fighters dare to save lives

Fire can cause extreme damage to lives and properties in no time. It spreads very fast and becomes uncontrollable if not checked. Once a fire accident occurs, the people who immediately rush to the place are fire fighters. Their vehicle is equipped in such a way to help them put off the fire and rescue people and things from buildings and homes. The discount fire hose which are attached to the fire engines help pump water, which can immediately put off fire. The fire hose is long and wide. There are ladders in the fire engine which help the fire fighters to take the hose up and put off fire. Sometimes they have to get inside burning buildings to rescue people.

My G-Ride

I don’t actually own or drive a car since I only have a learner’s permit and that expired two years ago. I do, however, drive a six-seater burgundy golf-cart. My town prides itself on having golf-cart paths everywhere for ease of transportation. I don’t think there’s a single place where I live that can’t be reached via golf-cart, it’s actually pretty great considering my college is one of those easily-reachable locations. However, sometimes it gets a little awful when it’s winter and I have to drive. There was even one winter when the windshield was broken so I had to face the cold, hoping not to succumb to frost bite.

Tokyo, Japan

Greater Tokyo Area is the world's most populou...
Image via Wikipedia

If I could live anywhere in the world, money not being an issue, it would have to be Tokyo in Japan. Though, I would probably travel around and see the countryside and probably try to learn Bear Martial Arts from hermits. The city is so alive and on the cusp of technological advancement. Plus, being 6 foot 3 with long hair, I could probably become a television personality or something like that since they seem to love odd-looking foreigners over there. The only problems I would have would be the earthquakes and tsunamis they’re prone to, but I’m sure I would grow used to it.

In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night…

If I could be or have the powers of any superhero, it would no doubt be The Green Lantern. A Green Lantern wields the most powerful weapon in the universe, the Power Ring that allows the wearer to survive in space, fly, resist most damage, and create hard light constructs from their imagination. The only drawback is that the ring must be recharged every 24 hours, but it’s a fairly simple process that takes all of ten seconds. And, what else would I do with these powers besides stop crimes? I’d have to patrol the entire sector of 2814, but since I’m based on Earth, I could really make a difference and inspire people.

Anti-Communism

Navy Zippo lighter.

Certainly the coolest gift I have ever received is my trusty Zippo flip-top lighter. I say trusty, but the thing runs out of fluid all the time, usually when I most need it. The design of it is based on my second favorite comic of all time, ‘Preacher‘. It is a chrome colored lighter with the words, “F**K COMMUNISM” etched on the front. Obviously, there aren’t actual asterisks on the lighter. It’s quite helpful when I need a quick hand-warming when I drive to school in the Winter mornings on my Golf cart, and I feel impossibly awesome simultaneously lighting cigars and letting people know my stance on economics.

Manners

Manners are indeed one of the most important qualities that one should possess and intake continuously right from the beginning when he understands the ways of world. Manners make a man – always a truth. Manners are not inherited but need to be injected initially by parents to their children and later the tradition passes on. That is why a well or ill mannered person is related to his family background. Basic manners include respecting others, polite speech and avoidance of untruths. These qualities inculcate a feeling of humanity in person’s heart and appreciate him to do something related to welfare of humanity. So in a nutshell, manners are mandatory.

My well thought vacation

Vacation is always welcomed because they allow a person to have a break from their normal boring routine. If I were given a choice to go to a desired place along with people of my choice then I would like to choose Fiji as my destination point. I would like to take my parents with me because they are and always will be my best friends. I opted for Fiji because of its natural beauty and heart contenting beaches. Small numerous villages of Fiji are famous for warm welcome to visitors and I am longing to be there and experience reality in what I have heard of.

Sparks

Everyone around the world will have a bad experience with fire in their life time. It can be bad, worse or worst and can cost everything including life. It can be just a spark from your electrical appliance or can be a wild fire which might cost you everything. As fire can do damage of millions in the blink of an eye, fire alarm systems are installed in all kinds of buildings. Fire alarms alert the owner or the one in charge about the fire through an ear piercing alarm. Some models also have features like alerting the owner via mobile phone, alerting the fire force etc. It is very important to protect our work, our dear and near ones from the hands of fire. So always keep the building fireproof by the simple installation of a fire alarm.

My last Holiday

Last Friday happened to be a holiday due to a schedule in the gazette. It was Sikh’s 10th guru, Guru Gobind Singh’s birthday. I had a lot of plans with my friends as it was a public holiday after a long time. I liked about this day was that though it was an event related to Sikh community but it was celebrated with full enthusiasm by all sects of society with full zeal. People gathered in groups to enjoy this event to the fullest. One thing I didn’t liked about it was that there were certain people who still kept them away from these activities believing that it is not allowed in their religion to participate in other religion’s celebrations. It is certainly a bad message to humanity.

New Year – new resolutions, new expectations and lot of zest about the happenings that one expects in the present fresh year 2011. I am looking forward to better my academics records to help me secure my future which dominantly depends on my present educational record. I wish to learn something new that would help others in many aspects. I am also planning to evaluate deeply my negatives so that I could try my best to remove them from my character profile as soon as possible and with much ease. I am also planning NOT to smoke afterwards from the starting of this year. So at last I would like to say, ‘Welcome 2011’
